PP Atelier Sertão Brutal — the sertão translated into matter, colour and presence.

PP Atelier Sertão Brutal is a small certified collection of six pieces. The theme carries such importance that the Atelier reserved example 01/06 for its own archive. It remains the inaugural record of a collection in which every watch receives an identity, a number and a memory.

Every detail of this watch was conceived as the cultural expression of a territory: Brazil's sertão. Shaped by climatic extremes and historical inequalities in infrastructure, the sertão is also a place of work, invention, memory and belonging. The perseverance of its people is presented here not as ornament, but as a presence forged in everyday life.

PP Atelier conceived Sertão Brutal by looking at that presence without reducing the sertão to adversity. The piece seeks to translate the bond between people and their environment: land that imposes limits, culture that creates responses, and hope that endures even when the path becomes severe.

On the dial, this idea takes material form. The red surface carries a genuinely raised crackled texture; charcoal-black fissures reveal its depth and evoke earth marked by the sun. The effect is deliberately subtle. It does not illustrate a landscape; it transforms fissure, colour and light into a narrative that changes with the viewer's gaze.

A 40 mm steel case and domed hardened crystal frame the dial with restraint. The Miyota movement, 5 ATM water resistance and premium PU strap, finished by hand in the Atelier, provide a functional foundation for a piece whose language emerges from the meeting of precision and gesture.

On the caseback, a hand engraving records the Atelier's name and the number assigned to each piece. The mark does not seek the uniformity of an industrial inscription. It preserves the hand of the Atelier and reinforces the individual character of each example — a choice consistent with a collection that finds value in material, process and subtle differences.

Sertão Brutal does not attempt to explain the sertão in its entirety. It is an original interpretation: a way of recognising that even under the harshest circumstances, art, poetry and the human capacity to create presence endure.
