Astromélia
A living work of art.
Colour · RECORD 04 / 2026
The gesture remains.
Écarlate — original visual presentation.
Workbench record made before assembly was completed.
CURATORIAL NOTE
Red and black transform the surface into an event.
In Écarlate, colour does not fill an area uniformly. It cuts through it. Red opens over black in a composition of irregular edges, directions and interruptions.
The gold frame sets a boundary for the gesture without domesticating it. The contrast creates an almost painterly reading: the dial may be observed as a small abstract surface before it is read as an instrument for telling time.
The workbench photograph documents the physical stage of the project. The presentation expands its atmosphere and proposes the ensemble with hands. These records relate through development, not photographic equivalence.
ABOUT THIS RECORD
Images are shown without cropping or retouching. Digital presentations express a visual intention; process photographs document a specific stage of development. A concept should not be mistaken for a finished piece.
